Maniakalani Film Festival Experience

Walt: Create a blog post about your Maniakalani Film Festival Movie.

Today we had to do our Maniakalani Film Festival. The movies had to be due this Friday, so that everybody can see our amazing movies that we have created as a group, per class. But the movies have to be 3 minutes long and not any longer than that. It takes hard work and dedication to be able to finish off the movie in time.

Everybody did the challenge, except for 7 students who didn't do it. So they needed to have a taste in front of the whole class and give out their best reactions. All we had to do was put on the blindfolds, that is when the challenge of tasting food has begun. What I really enjoyed about our film festival movie, was watching my class mates and how they react to different kinds of food.

But the most thing that I found really challenging, was not knowing what I would have to taste. I felt really scared because I didn't know if it would taste good or disgusting. Before I tell you any ideas that I have for the next film, I would need to tell you about "What I'll do better next time?" The one thing that I would do better next time, is speaking up a little bit louder. I was really quiet and didn't speak my mind, like I was suppose too.

My ideas that I have in mind for the next film is doing a good luck film. In this Era, Pumba, Adidas and other shoe brands are very popular among students and adults. But the one thing that would bring good luck to you, are wearing scuffs.

So if you want to find out what we ate, make sure to watch and listen closely to what the students have to say.

Geometry Words

Walt: use Geometry words by involving directions.

Our task was to learn how to read a map and the directions. Our first task was about knowing your N = North, S = South, W = West and E = East. We also had to make our own map of what our classroom looks like and to give them directions on where the entrance of the door is and, where you can exit out. Our last task was a little hard, the reason being is because we needed to read the map properly, to be able to find the answers.

Tenths & Hundredths

Walt: Understand tenths and hundredths

Our task was to complete the presentation about working out and understanding our hundredths and tenths. Then we had to work on some of the slides, in our maths book. We also needed to learn what the decimal and fraction would be for each question on each slide.

Locations of the Solar System

Walt: Create your own model of the solar system that explains where the moon, earth and sun and other planets located.
Our task was to make our own model scale of the locations where the moon, sun, earth and all the other planets. Then we had to see how far the other planets are from the sun. It has more information about what 'AU' stands for and many more meanings.

Phases of the Moon & Tides

Walt: Make an animation about the phases of the moon and how our moons affect the tide.

Our task was to create an animation explaining the phases of the moon and how they affect our tides. This movie explains what kinds of moons, affect our tides and their name. It took a little while for me to search for other tides that might have been affected by our moon. I hope you enjoy my movie.

Area L3

Walt: Find the area of objects

Our task was to find the area of different objects and to answer them properly. But the first slide showed us an example of what we are suppose to do. Some of the questions required us to find the equation and what the answer is. Most of the questions were really hard to answer, it took a lot of time for me to figure them out.

Then we had to use the following tips from different videos, so it can teach us many things about leaving a comment. We also had to put in questions or something they need to work on, we were allowed to put in a compliment or a question.
